I have cranked a skein of a beautiful colorway by Turtle Purl (I don't have the label so I don't know the name) into a 64 stitch sock tube. There are two 50 gram sock tubes with acrylic waste yarn (no suitable to use as sock yarn) on both ends to secure the project. It measures approx. 3.5" wide with a gauge of approx. 10 stitches per inch.
All you have to do is add heels, toes and cuffs and voila, a pair of socks is born!
These tubes are perfect for last minute gift knits when you don't have time to knit miles of stockinette.
