I have cranked the PTY colorway "Love Is Love" into a 64 stitch sock tube. This tube is 76 grams of fingering weight yarn with acrylic waste yarn (no suitable to use as sock yarn) on both ends to secure the project. It measures approx. 3.5" wide with a gauge of approx. 10 stitches per inch and has 377 rounds of stockinette.
All you have to do is split the tube, add heels, toes and cuffs and voila, a pair of socks is born!
These tubes are perfect for last minute gift knits when you don't have time to knit miles of stockinette.
Pricing breakdown is as follows:
A 100 gram skein of PTY hand dyed yarn is $29. Since this tube is 76 grams I priced it at $22 and I charge a $12 cranking service fee.
